DcAligned

Works with Bricscad (Windows) Classic, Pro and Platinum, Bricscad (Linux) Classic, Pro and Platinum

Constrains the distance between two points or the length of a line or polyline segment.

This command is equivalent to the Aligned option of the DIMCONSTRAINT command.

Accessing the Command

Prompts you in the command bar:

Specify first constraint point or [Entity/Point & line/2Lines] <Entity>: (Select a valid constraint point or choose an option.)

Specify second constraint point: (Select a valid constraint point.)

Specify dimension line location: (Select a point to position the dimension line.)

Dimension text <current>: (Type the dimension text or press Enter to accept the current dimension text.)

The distance between the selected points is constrained.

Command Options

Option	Description
Entity	Prompts you to select an entity. Select a line, polyline segment or arc.
Specify dimension line location	Select a point to position the dimension line.
Dimension text <current>	Type the dimension text or press Enter to accept the current dimension text. The distance between the endpoints of the selected entity is constrained.

Point & Line	Prompts you to select a valid constraint point.
Line	Prompts you to select a line.
Specify dimension line location	Select a point to position the dimension line. Depending on the position of the cursor either the shortest distance between the point and the line (= perpendicular to the line) or the distance between the point and the start point of the line (measured parallel to the line) is dimensioned
Dimension text <current>	Type the dimension text or press Enter to accept the current dimension text. The distance between the point and the line or between the point and the start point of the line is constrained (see previous step).

2Lines	Prompts you to select a line.
Select second line to make parallel	Select a second line.
Specify dimension line location	Select a point to position the dimension line.
Dimension text <current>	Type the dimension text or press Enter to accept the current dimension text. The second line is placed parallel to the first line at the specified distance.

Related Commands

Dimconstraint - applies a dimensional constraint to an entity or between constraint points on entities; converts associative dimensions to dynamic dimensions.

Geomconstraint - applies geometric relationships between entities and/or valid constraint points on entities.

DcAngular - constrains the angle between two lines or linear polyline segments; the total angle of an arc or an arc polyline segment; or the angle between three points on entities.

DcVertical - constrains the vertical distance (Y-distance) between two points with respect to the current coordinate system.

ConstraintBar - controls the display of the constraint bar of entities.

Delconstraint - removes all dimensional and geometrical constraints from an entity.
