Explodes entities, and provides control over the resulting entities (short for "explode").
Accessing the Command

Prompts you in the command bar:
Select entities to explode: (Choose one or more entities.)
Entities in set: 1
Select entities to explode: (Choose more entities, or press Enter to continue.)
Xplode objects: Separately/<All>: (Type S or A.)
All/Multiple/Color/LAyer/LType/ltScale/Inherit/<Xplode>: (Enter an option.)
This command does not explode external references, attached images, or basic entities, such as lines, circles, and arcs.
Command Options
Option |
Description |
Selects the entities to explode. Choose one or more entities; use any selection method. Entities on frozen layers are not selected and not frozen. |

Explodes one entity at a time; the prompts repeat themselves for each entity. |

Explodes all selected entities together. |

Specifies all properties for the selected entities. |

Specifies more than one property for the exploded entities; prompts you: Color/LAyer/LType/ltScale/<Xplode> - enter an option. For example, enter C for color and then S for linetype scale; reports: Altering: Color LTScale Color for new drawing entities - specify a color number or name. Linetype scale for new entities - specify a scale factor. |

Specifies the layer for the exploded entities; prompts you: Layer for new entities - specify the name. The layer name must exist in the drawing. |

Specifies the linetype for the exploded entities; prompts you: Linetype for new entities - specify the name. The linetype name must exist in the drawing. |

Specifies the linetype scale for the exploded entities; prompts you: Linetype scale for new entities - specify the scale factor. |

Inherits the color, layer, and linetype scale from the source entities. |

Explodes the selected entities. |
