Layer property

Sets or returns the layer of an entity. If you don't specify a layer, the current active layer is used for a new entity. If a layer is specified for an entity, the current active layer is ignored. Each layer has associated properties that can be set and queried through the Layer object.

 

Syntax

stringVariable = object.Layer

object.Layer = <string>

Where:

     stringVariable is a variable for storing the layer name.

     object is the applicable entity object;

     string is the name of a layer to be assigned to an entity.
