Join

Works with Bricscad (Windows) Classic, Pro and Platinum, Bricscad (Linux) Classic and Pro

Joins two or more colinear lines; joins two or more cocentered arcs.

Accessing the Command

command bar:  join

menu bar:  Modify | Join

toolbar:  Modify |

Prompts you in the command bar:

Select line or arc for joining: (Choose a line or an arc.)

 

Lines must be colinear, as illustrated below.

Select lines for attempted join: (Choose one or more additional colinear lines.)

 

The selected lines are highlighted:

Entities in set: 1

Select lines for attempted join: (Press Enter.)

1 objects merged.

The lines are joined into a single line:

If lines are not colinear, Bricscad complains, "1 line was not parallel," and then exits the command.

 

Arcs must have the same radius, share the same center point, and be drawn in the same direction.

Select arcs for counterclockwise join: (Select one or more arcs.)

Entities in set: 1

Select arcs for counterclockwise join: (Press Enter.)

1 objects merged.

The arcs are joined into a single arc:

If arcs cannot be joined, Bricscad complains, "1 arc was not concentric," and then exits the command.

Selects one line or one arc.

When a line is selected, prompts you:

Select lines for attempted join - choose one or more colinear lines.

 

When an arc is selected, prompts you:

Select arcs for counterclockwise join - select one or more arcs.
