Creates a cross section view based on a standard drawing view generated by the ViewBase command in a paper space layout.

Accessing the Command

command bar:  viewsection

menu bar:  View| Generated Views | Generate Section

toolbar:  View | Generated Views |

Prompts you in the command bar:

Select drawing view:  (Select a drawing view in the current paperspace layout.)

Instructions

Specify start point of section line: (Pick a point)

Specify end point of section line: (Pick a point)

Select position for section view:

The section view displays dynamically parallel to the section line. The view direction of the section view is defined by the position of the section view with respect to the section line.

Grips Editing

Section lines can be edited through grips.

4 grips display:

• Drag the arrowhead grips (1) to reposition the section line.
  The corresponding section view is updated automatically.

• Drag the text grips (2) to move the section ID text.
