XArrayR

Works with Bricscad (Windows) Platinum

Creates a rectangular array of X-Solids and Acis solids.

Accessing the Command

command bar:  xarrayr

menu bar:  X-Solids | Tools | Rectangular Array

toolbar:  X-Tools |

Prompts you in the command bar:

Select entities: select one or more X-Solids and/or Acis solids.

Right click to stop selecting entities.

 

Displays a dialog box:

Command Options

Option

Description

Number

Defines the number of columns and rows in the array.

Do one of the following:

  • Type a number in the Columns and Rows fields.

  • Press the Up- and Down-arrow buttons.

Spacing

Defines the column and row spacing.

Do one of the following:

  • Type the spacing in the X (Columns) and Y (Rows) fields.

  • Click the down-arrow, then pick a previously used value in the list box.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
    Prompts you in the command bar:
    Right-mouse to Pick/<Width>:
    Click two points
    or right click:
    you are prompted to select a line, arc, circle or edge

Plane

Defines the plane of the rectangular array.

The array is created in the XY-plane of the current UCS by default.

Click one of the option buttons.

  • 3 Points: The Create Rectangular Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command bar to define the plane.

  • Face/Object: The Create Rectangular Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command bar to select a planar entity or the face of solid.

  • Z-Axis: The Create Rectangular Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command bar to click two points. The plane passes through the first point and is perpendicular to the line defined by the two points.

  • View: The Create Rectangular Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command bar to define the origin of the plane. The plane passes through this point and is parallel to the current view orientation.

  • XY, XZ and YZ: The array is created parallel to the XY-, XZ- or YZ-plane of the current UCS.

Pick All

The Create Rectangular Array dialog box temporarily closes.

You are prompted in the command bar:

  • Number of Rows <1>: type a number.

  • Number of Columns <1>: type a number.

  • Distance between rows: click two points in the drawing.

  • Distance between columns: click two points in the drawing.

Associative

If checked, creates the rectangular array as a composite X-Solid.

If the arrayed solids overlap each other, they are unified.

After primitive creation, perform operation:

Launches the XUnion, XIntersect or XSubtract command to be executed using the newly created X-Solid box. You are prompted in the command bar to select one or more other solids.

Preview

Displays a preview of the array in the drawing in dashed lines.

View

The Create Rectangular Array dialog box temporarily closes.

Displays the View Options dialog box:

OK

Creates the rectangular array.

Cancel

Aborts the XArrayR command.
