Works with Bricscad (Windows) Platinum

Creates a polar array of X-Solids and Acis solids.

Accessing the Command

menu bar:  X-Solids | Tools | Polar Array

Prompts you in the command bar:

Select entities: select one or more X-Solids and/or Acis solids.

Description

Number of items

Defines the number of items in the array.

Do one of the following:

  • Type a number in the Number of items field.

  • Press the Up- and Down-arrow button.

Angle to fill

Defines the angle between the first an the last item in the array.

Do one of the following:

  • Type the angle in the Angle to fill field.

  • Click the down-arrow, then pick a previously used value in the list box.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
Prompts you in the command bar:
    Angle of revolution:
    Click two points.
The angle is measured counter clockwise between the positive X-axis and the line defined by the two points.

Reverse

Reverses the angle.

Positive angles are measured counter clockwise.

Axis

Defines the axis of revolution.

The Z-axis of the current UCS is used by default.

Do one of the following:

  • 2 Points: The Create Polar Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command bar to define two points.

  • Edge/Object: The Create Polar Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command bar: select line, arc, circle or edge.

    • line: the selected line defines the axis

    • arc, circle: the axis passes through the center point of the arc or circle and is perpendicular to the plane of the arc or circle.

    • edge: the selected edge of an X-solid or Acis solid defines the axis.

  • X, Y and Z: The X-, Y- or Z-axis of the current UCS defines the axis.

  • Move: The Create Polar Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command bar to define a point. The previously defined axis is moved parallel  to pass through the selected point.

Pick All

The Create Polar Array dialog box temporarily closes. You are prompted in the command:

  • Center point <0,0,0>: Click a point to define the axis parallel to the Z-axis of the current UCS.

  • Number of items: Type the number of items.

  • Angle to fill (+=ccw , -=cw): type the angle to fill.

Associative

If checked, creates the polar array as a composite X-Solid.

If the arrayed solids overlap each other, they are unified.

After primitive creation, perform operation:

Launches the XUnion, XIntersect or XSubtract command to be executed using the newly created X-Solid box. You are prompted in the command bar to select one or more other solids.

Preview

Displays a preview of the array in the drawing in dashed lines.

View

Displays the View Options dialog box:

OK

Creates the polar array.

Cancel

Aborts the XArrayP command.
