Writes blocks and other drawing parts to files on disk through the command bar (short for "write block").

Accessing the Command

command bar:  -wblock

 

: -wblock

Prompts you in the command bar:

File name for new drawing/block: (Type the path and filename in the command bar.)

ENTER to select entities/& to include multiple blocks/* for whole drawing/ <Block to save as WBlock>: (Type the name of the block you want to write to a file or enter an option.)

Type the name of the block you want to write to a file.

Select entities

Press Enter.

BricsCAD prompts you:

Insertion point for new block: Specify the origin point of the drawing file to be created.

Select entities for block: Select entities.

Entities in set: <number of entities>

Select entities for block: Select more entities or press Enter to stop and create the new drawing.

The selected entities are deleted from the current drawing. Use the Oops command to restore the entities.

Multiple blocks

Type &

BricsCAD prompts you:

Blocks to save: Type the names of the blocks separated by commas.

The block definitions are saved to the new drawing.

Whole drawing

Type * or A

All entities in the current drawing are saved to the new drawing.

This procedure is equivalent to SaveAs.
