Measures x and y ordinate distances from a common point at the current UCS origin.
Accessing the Command

Prompts you in the command bar:
Select point for ordinate dimension: (Choose a geometric feature.)
Text/X datum/Y datum/Angle/<Leader endpoint>: (Pick an endpoint for the leader, or enter an option.)

Command Options
Option |
Description |
Chooses the start point of the ordinate leader; usually is a geometric feature, such as a corner or circle. |

Forces the ordinate dimension to measure the x distance; the distance is measured from the origin of the current UCS. Move the UCS, if required. |

Forces the ordinate dimension to measure the y distance. |
|
Specifies the angle of the text; useful for keeping text horizontal with inclined dimension lines. Prompts you: Angle of dimension text - specify the rotation angle of the text. |

|
Specifies the text; useful for overriding the default measurement generated by Bricscad. Prompts you: Dimension text - specify the replacement text. |
Specifies the end point of the leader. |
Grips Editing
Ordinate dimensions can be edited directly through grips:
Select an ordinate dimension. Notice the grips.
Drag the grips to perform the following actions:
Drag the grip at the end point to relocate the endpoint; the leader and text remain fixed.
Drag the grip on the leader to relocate it and the associated text.
Drag the grip at the center of the text to relocate the entire dimension anywhere in the drawing.
