EdgeSurf

Works with Bricscad (Windows) Classic and Pro, Bricscad (Linux) Classic

Creates a 3D Coons mesh surface patch between four lines, forming a closed shape (short for "edge surface").

Accessing the Command

command bar:  edgesurf

menu bar:  Draw | Meshes | Coons Surface

toolbar:  3D Draw | 3D Surfaces |

Prompts you in the command bar:

Select the first of four connected linear entities for edge surface: (Pick an entity.)

Select second edge:  (Pick another entity.)

Select third edge:  (Pick a third entity.)

Select last edge:  (Pick a fourth entity.)

 

 

Command Options

Description

Select the first of four connected linear entities for edge surface

Chooses a line, arc, or polyline.

You can pick the entities in any order.

Select second edge

Chooses another entity.

Select third edge

Chooses a third entity.

Select last edge

Chooses the fourth entity.

All four must connect at their endpoints; use entity snap to ensure this. Entities cannot be overlapping or consist of splines.

Grips Editing

Edge meshes can be edited directly through grips:

  1. Select the mesh. Notice that it has several grips.

  2. Drag a grip to stretch the adjacent faces.
