Unit Settings

Command: UNITS and -UNITS

The Units command sets units of linear and angular measurements through the Settings dialog box.

The -Units command sets units of linear and angular measurements in the command bar.

To define the Drawing Units settings

  1. Type units in the command bar, then press Enter.
    The  Settings dialog opens, showing the Drawing Units settings.

  1. Expand the Linear units and Angular units settings groups.

Controls the automatic when inserting blocks or attaching xrefs or images.

MEASUREMENT

Determines whether Imperial (ANSI) or Metric (ISO) hatch pattern and linetype files are used.

Unit mode

Specifies how imperial units display.

LUNITS

Linear unit type

Sets the linear unit type.

LUPREC

Linear unit precision

Determines the display precision for linear units in dialog boxes and the Coordinates field in the Status Bar.

The LUPREC system variable affects the display precision only, not the internal precision.

AUNITS

Angular unit type

Sets the angular units display format.

AUPREC

Angular unit precision

Determines the display precision for angular units in dialog boxes and the Coordinates field in the Status Bar.

The AUPREC system variable affects the display precision only, not the internal precision.

ANGBASE

Angular base

Sets the origin for angular units relative to the current coordinate system . If ANGBASE = 0, angles are measured from the X-axis.

ANGDIR

Angular direction

Sets the positive angle direction. If ANGDIR = 0 or OFF, angles are measured counter clockwise (default setting).
