XCone

Works with Bricscad (Windows) Platinum

Creates a cone as a 3D X-Solid.

Accessing the Command

command bar:  xcone

Command Options

Option

Description

Origin

Specifies the x,y,z coordinates of the origin point:

  • Type the coordinates in the Origin field, separated by commas.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
    Prompts you in the command bar:
    Select Origin:
    Pick a point

Radius X
Diameter X

Specifies the radius or the diameter of the base face of the cone.

Click the button to switch.

  • Type the value in the X field.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
    Prompts you in the command bar:
    Radius:
    Click two points

Minor Radius Y

Specifies them minor radius in case of an elliptical cone.

  • Type the value in the Y field.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
    Prompts you in the command bar:
    Radius:
    Click two points

Top Radius T

Specifies the radius of the top face of the cone.

  • Type the value in the T field.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
    Prompts you in the command bar:
    Radius:
    Click two points

 

Height Z

Specifies the height of the cone:

  • Type the height in the Height Z field.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
    Prompts you in the command bar:
    Right-mouse to Pick/<Length>:
    Click two points
    or
    Right click
    Prompts you in the command bar:
    Select a line, arc, circle or edge:

    Select a line, arc, circle of edge in the drawing.

Ellipse

Enables the Minor Radius Y field.

Pick All

The Create X-Solid Cone dialog box temporarily closes.

Prompts you in the command bar:

  • Elliptical/<Base> <0,0,0>: Click the origin point of the cone or type E + Enter..

  • Diameter/<Radius> of cone: Click a point to define the radius of the cone
    or type D + Enter to define the diameter.

  • Apex/Top radius/<Height>: Click two points to define the height of the cone
    or choose an option.

  • Apex: Sets the top radius equal to zero

  • Top radius:  Click two points to define the top radius of the cone.

 

Elliptical:

  • Center/<Axis endpoint>: Click two points to define the first axis of the ellipse
    or type C + Enter to define the center point of the ellipse.

  • Rotation/<Other axis distance>: Click a point to define the second axis of the ellipse
    or type R + Enter to define the rotation around the major axis.

  • Apex/Top radius/<Height>: Click two points to define the height of the cone
    or choose an option.

  • Apex: Sets the top radius equal to zero.

  • Top radius:  Click two points to define the top radius of the cone.

Preview

Displays a preview of the cone in the drawing in dashed lines.

View

The Create X-Solid Cone dialog box temporarily closes.

Displays the View Options dialog box:

Manipulate

The Create X-Solid Cone dialog box closes.

Displays the Manipulate dialog box to Move, Rotate or Align the X-Solid cone.

Move: Prompts you in the command bar to specify the displacement vector by clicking two points.

Move To: Prompts you in the command bar to move the origin point of the X-Solid cone.

Rotate: Type an angle in the Angle field or choose an angle in the list box, then click an axis button to rotate the X-Solid cone.

Align: Aligns the X, Y or Z-axis of the X-Solid box. Prompts you in the command bar to specify two points. The X-Solid cone is rotated about its origin.

Done: Creates the X-Solid cone.

OK: Reopens the Create X-Solid cone dialog box.

Cancel: Aborts the XCone command.

OK

Creates the X-Solid cone.

Cancel

Aborts the XCone command.

After primitive creation, perform operation:

Launches the XUnion, XIntersect or XSubtract command to be executed using the newly created X-Solid cone. You are prompted in the command bar to select one or more other solids.

 

Grips Editing

X-Cones can be edited directly through grips:

  1. Select the cone.

  2. Drag the grip to move the cone.

Related Commands

Cone - creates a cone as polygon mesh (Classic); creates a cone as a 3D solid (Pro and Platinum).

XBox - creates a three-dimensional X-Solid box.

XCylinder - creates a cylinder as a 3D X-Solid.

XExtrude - extrudes 2D entities to X-solids.

XRevolve - revolves 2D closed entities to turn them into 3D X-Solids.

XSphere - creates a sphere as a 3D X-Solid.

XSweep - Extrudes 2D entities along a path to X-solids.

XTorus - creates a torus as a 3D X-Solid.

XWedge - creates a wedge as a 3D X-Solid.
