XRevolve

Works with Bricscad (Windows) Platinum

Revolves 2D closed entities to turn them into 3D X-Solids.

Accessing the Command

command bar:  xrevolve

menu bar:  X-Solids | Revolve

toolbar:  X-Solids |

: xrevolve

Prompts you in the command bar:

Select profiles to revolve: select one or more closed 2D entities.

Non-selfintersecting closed polylines, circles and ellipses are accepted.

Right click to stop selecting Entities.

Displays a dialog box:

Command Options

Option

Description

Angle

Specifies the revolution angle.

  • Type the angle in the Angle field.

  • Click the Pick button (), the dialog box temporarily closes.
Prompts you in the command bar:
    Angle of revolution <360>:
type the angle, then press Enter
    or
click two points to define the revolution angle. The angle is measured counter clockwise from the X-axis of the current UCS.

Reverse

Reverses the revolution angle.

Axis

Defines the axis of revolution.

2 Points

The dialog box temporarily closes.

Prompts you in the command bar:

Start point of axis <0,0,0>: click a point to define the start point of the revolution axis.

End point of axis: click a point to define the end point of the revolution axis.

XYZ

Press the X button to rotate about the X-axis of the current UCS.

Press the Y button to rotate about the Y-axis of the current UCS.

Press the Z button to rotate about the Z-axis of the current UCS.

Edge/Object

The dialog box temporarily closes.

Prompts you in the command bar:

Select a line, arc, circle or edge: click on a line, arc or circle.

In case of an arc or a circle the axis is perpendicular to the plane of the arc or circle and passes through the center.

Move

Preserves the direction of the axis, but lets you select a different through-point.

Absorb profile

If checked, deletes the revolved 2D entities.

Pick All

The dialog box temporarily closes.

Prompts you in the command bar:

Axis of revolution - Object/X/Y/<Start point of axis> <0,0,0>: click a point to define the start point of the revolution axis or choose an option (see Axis).

End point of axis: click a point to define the end point of the revolution axis.

Angle of revolution <360 degrees>: Type the angle, then press Enter
or
click two points to define the revolution angle. The angle is measured counter clockwise from the X-axis of the current UCS.

After primitive creation, perform operation:

Launches the XUnion, XIntersect or XSubtract command to be executed using the newly created X-Solid box. You are prompted in the command bar to select one or more other solids.

Preview

Displays a preview of the extrusion in the drawing in dashed lines.

View

The Create X-Solid by Revolving dialog box temporarily closes.

Displays the View Options dialog box:

OK

Creates the X-Solid.

Cancel

Aborts the XRevolve command.
